24/7 Teach had an AI Chatbot,
but no one was using it

Through intensive interviews with students around the world, the reasons why came down to three main things

Restrictive 

The AI was scoped to 24/7 Teach products and services, while users expected comprehensive academic support (including college advising).

Unreliable

Interaction failures (unresponsive buttons, broken links, non-intuitive controls) frustrated users and accelerated drop-off.

Outdated

The interface appeared dated against cleaner, minimalist competitors, reducing perceived quality and engagement.

Breaking silos to move faster

I ran a steady cadence of standups, reviews, and async updates to keep decisions moving and eliminate surprises. We documented shared user flows, use cases, and QA plans as a single source of truth accessible to every team. The right stakeholders were consulted for focused research, reviews, and testing only when their expertise materially impacted the work.

the specifics come to you

Instead of students receiving FAQ-style replies, I proposed that we use a different API to deliver targeted, context-aware guidance with clear paths to action.

 

We moved from a small on-site pop-up to a dedicated, account-enabled web page—unlocking conversation history, adaptive responses, and saved accessibility preferences for a fully personalized experience.

Design clarity that fuels engagement and expansion

Leveraging a defined design system, we shipped consistent, accessible, and intuitive surfaces fast. That clarity increased engagement and gave us the velocity to expand into a cohesive platform.

AI-powered comprehensive educational platform ready for pilot programs

Parts of the platform were released to two pilot schools in August 2024. We launched concurrent research initiatives to capture early signal, then translated findings into iterative updates shipped in the weeks that followed. We had a User Satisfaction score of 75%.
